The Indian government has announced that the price of a domestic LPG cylinder has risen to over ₹1,600, marking a substantial increase amid a 46% surge in global benchmarks.

This price hike comes in the wake of escalating international costs, which have been attributed to the outbreak of conflict in West Asia earlier this year.

While public concern over rising energy costs grows, the government maintains that India's LPG prices are still competitive on a global scale.
